Setting Picker Specs in Perform

If you've signed up for Hectre Perform and want to ensure your pickers are working to the right specifications for the best returns, this guide will help you set up picker specifications. These settings will allow you to receive notifications whenever quality falls outside your desired thresholds, so you can provide real-time feedback to your pickers. The bellow steps outline a demonstration example, the values can be tailored to your specific needs.

Step 1: Access Perform Settings

  1. Log in to Hectre Perform and navigate to the Settings page.
  2. Select the Perform module.

Step 2: Set Picker Specifications

  1. Choose a fruit variety (e.g., Gala) and select the pick stage (e.g., First Pick).
  2. Configure thresholds for:
    • Defects:
      • Set maximum percentages for picker defects, cosmetic defects, pest damage, and overall defects. For example:
        • Picker defects: 2%
        • Cosmetic defects: 2%
        • Overall defects: 5%
    • Color:
      • Select a minimum color grade (e.g., F2) and set a percentage threshold (e.g., >5% F2).
    • Size:
      • Define a size range based on market demands and set a percentage threshold for bins outside this range (e.g., >10%).
    • Picker Speed:
      • Enable monitoring for morning or full-day picker speed. For example:
        • Morning: Picker must complete three bins by lunchtime.

Step 3: Enable Notifications

  1. Go to the Notifications tab.
  2. Ensure Pause All is turned off.
  3. Toggle notifications on for your fruit variety and pick stage (e.g., Gala First Pick).

Step 4: Record Bins During Harvest

  1. When a picker completes a bin:
    • Go to the Bins page and click the + button to create a new bin.
    • Select the block (e.g., Orchard 12, Sub-block GL) and pick stage (e.g., First Pick).
    • Assign the bin to the picker (e.g., Adrian B).
  2. Upload a photo of the bin.
  3. Record quality control (QC) data by sampling fruit from the bin:
    • Input defects (e.g., bruises, scuffs, sunburn) based on a 25-fruit sample.

Step 5: Review Results and Notifications

  1. View bin results, including size, color, and QC defect data.
  2. If a threshold is breached, you’ll receive a notification with details (e.g., picker defects, cosmetic defects, size, or color).
  3. Use these insights to provide immediate feedback to your picker to ensure they meet specifications.

By following these steps, you can ensure your pickers are working to the right quality and your bins meet the desired specifications for optimal returns. For more information, visit www.hectre.com.
