Perform: Adding Size, Color, & Defect for QC
Once you've successfully created a bin and logged totes in Perform, you can conduct quality control by adding detailed information on fruit size, color, and defects. This process helps monitor and improve the quality of fruit picking.
Adding QC Information to a Tote
- Open the bin you wish to inspect.
- Scroll down and select one of the picker's totes.
- Tap the Scan tote button.
- Take a photo of the tote full of fruit.
- Confirm that the variety and bin size are correct, then submit. Allow a moment for the photo to process.
Recording Defects
- Tap + Add defects.
- Confirm the sample size is selected (default is 25, but you can also choose 50 or 100). This indicates the number of fruits you'll physically inspect from the top of the tote.
- Inspect each fruit and enter count values for picker, cosmetic, and pest defects.
- (Optional) Add images to the QC sample for record-keeping.
- Tap Save.
The system will then display the percentage of fruit found defective. Once the size and color results are returned, you can go back to the bins overview to see the breakdown for size, color, and overall defect for that tote.
